Wagon Wheel House, Another Look and An Offer
by Julian on Mar.13, 2009,under House Purchase
Ken and I exchanged Emails and phone calls about the Wheel House. I put in an offer including partial closing costs. It was 14 pages!

I like the fact that it has Central Heat. I'm not a big fan of Gas Furnaces, but it'll work. During the daylight the house did show some of its age, inside. The floor is not brand new, the stove and washer are somewhat old. Instead of a dryer there are cloth lines out in the back yard.
The kitchen lacks what I consider an appropriate number of electrical outlets. Either that or I have too many appliances. Doesn't every household have a microwave, toaster, toaster oven, George Foreman grill, blender, food processor and crock pot in their kitchen? Oh and a dishwasher and garbage disposal?..along with a range and refrigerator freezer?
The house does have a separate dining room, north of the kitchen. I thought about making it a computer room... but current thinking has me leaving it as a dining room.
The living room is at the opposite side of the kitchen from the dining room. It has a fireplace that includes an insert that has fans to circulate the heat. I've always wanted a fireplace. One with the insert is a bonus.
I friend of mine pictures me with a glass of wine and a good book in front of the fireplace. I picture waking up in front of the fireplace in my favorite easy chair, to a phone ringing followed by my bosses voice asking me if I am coming into work today. Now that is relaxing... well, until the phone ringing part.
Both porches have screen doors.
There is a concrete patio in back, separating the house from the garage. There will be barbecue's, even in the snow. Ask my former neighbors. Trust me, there is nothing quite as a fun as grilling a burger in falling snow.
The garage is a two car garage of which one side was converted to storage. It's a weird layout. Half the garage is concrete, the other half is not. The door for the right half has been sealed off.
